Love My Big Brother!!

The other night (February 13th) I had to get up to do something (I can't remember what) while I was feeding Owen...  He started fussing so Ethan took over.   This is what I walked back into the kitchen to see:

I am SO happy I had my camera right on the kitchen island so that I was able to capture this moment on film! Ethan loves Owen, and Owen equally adores Ethan! :)

Baby Girl Mason Has Arrived!!!!

Yesterday morning Mom called and told me that Meghan might have her baby so all morning I carried the phone in my pocket waiting anxiously for any news.  Around 12:30, I was at Wegmans to meet my friends for lunch when Meghan called me.  She told me that her doctor confirmed that her water broke and so she was heading to the hospital (home first, though, to get the camera!).  All afternoon I kept my cell phone in my pocket for updates from Mom.

Sean came home from Richmond around 8:30, and around 10:15, Mom called to say that Meg was all ready to have Baby Girl!  So I quickly drove to the hospital and waited with everyone else for her arrival.  Finally, at 11:11PM she was born weighing 5 pounds 15 ounces!  She is absolutely beautiful!

Valentines Day 2012

As a tradition, I gave each boy a "Heart Attack" for them to wake up to on Valentines Day morning.  Ethan loved his!  When he woke up in the morning, he came in and said, "thank you for my hearts!"

Another Memorable Conversation with Ethan..

[In the car on the way to my parents...]

we were talking about how Sean has more brothers and sisters than I do...

Me:  How many brothers and sisters do you want?

Ethan:  two or three more... I don't want you to hurt when you have them, though.

Me:  Well, it's worth it...  I love you boys so much - with  my whole heart.

Ethan:  What about Dad?

Me:  Well there is a special places in moms' hearts for their kids.

Ethan:  In their livers?

Oh, the things Ethan says!!!

[this morning in our living room... Sean and I talking about our family vacation for this year - deciding if we should do a cruise or go somewhere like Disney World or Cancun...  Ethan sitting next to us hanging out]

Sean:  So we can get 4-5 day passes to Sea World and Bush Gardens for about the same price as an excursion if we went on a cruise, but we would be able to go multiple times.

Ethan:  Wait, my teacher still gives you homework even if you aren't there and I won't be there for 8 days.

Sean:  8 days?  How do you figure you won't be there for 8 days?

Ethan:  Well, you guys just said we are going to Marvin Gardens.

Sean and I look at each other and start laughing - Marvin Gardens... what?!  Can you tell me play a lot of Monopoly at our house?  HAHAHA!!!

Sean:  You have to blog that!

So here I am blogging it so we will always remember:)

Also, during the holidays, Ethan was talking to Sean about different things that people celebrate and he kept calling Hanukkah "Harmonica" ...  Sean told me so a couple of days later I asked him about Hanukkah and he again kept calling it Harmonica and got mad when I tried to correct him.  Silly boy!!!

Ethan is Tornado Citizen!! (Student of the Quarter)

On Thursday, Ethan came running off of the bus to tell me that he was selected as Tornado Citizen!  He was so excited, but I was a little confused because last year when he was selected, they kept it a secret from the kids and sent a note home in a sealed envelope to let the parents know.  They then did an assembly to honor the selected kids.  On Friday morning, his teacher emailed me back (I had sent a quick email Thursday night for clarification) and it was confirmed that he was chosen as the Tornado Citizen and that their process changed this year.  I was so excited for him!  Owen and I went to his class and surprised him before his honorary luncheon and took a picture of him next to the "Tornado Citizen Bulletin Board."

I am so proud of the man that he is becoming!!!

Just What I Needed.

I was studying one of President Uchtdorf's general conference talks last week and came across a wonderful quote that I really needed to be reminded of.

"God sees you not only as a mortal being on a small planet who lives for a brief season - He sees you as his child.  He sees you as the being you are capable and designed to become.  He wants you to know you matter to Him."

So grateful for this reminder!
